چکیده
Abstract In semi-classical transport, it has become common practice over the past few decades to use ensemble Monte Carlo methods for simulation of transport in semiconductor devices. This method utilizes particles while still addressing full physics within device, leaving computational difficulties computer. More recently, study quantum mechanical effects devices, have important, and been addressed devices using non-equilibrium Green’s functions (NEGF). NEGF, one faces considerable difficulties. Recently, a particle approach NEGF suggested preliminary results presented non-polar optical phonons Si, which are very localized scattering centers. Here, problems with long-range polar-optical discussed particle-based used examine InN at 300 K.

Extended Ensemble Monte Carlo
" Extended Ensemble Monte Carlo " is a generic term that indicates a set of algorithms which are now being popular in a variety of fields in physics and statistical information processing. Exchange Monte Carlo (Metropolis-Coupled Chain, Parallel Tempering), Simulated Tempering (Expanded Ensemble Monte Carlo), and Multicanonical Monte Carlo (Adaptive Umbrella Sampling) are typical members of thi...
متن کاملMonte Carlo Methods for Sampling the Potential Energy Landscape Ensemble
I discuss the general scheme and background for Monte Carlo random walks. This is then applied this to the specific case of sampling the “roaming region” of the formaldehyde (H2CO) potential energy surface.
متن کاملMonte Carlo Based Ensemble Forecasting
Ensemble forecasting involves the use of several integrations of a numerical model. Even if this model is assumed to be known, ensembles are needed due to uncertainty in initial conditions. The ideas discussed in this paper incorporate aspects of both analytic model approximations and Monte Carlo arguments to gain some eeciency in the generation and use of ensembles. EEciency is gained through ...
متن کاملMonte Carlo Investigations of Electron Decoherence due to Phonons
We investigate alternative Monte Carlo algorithms for simulation of the decoherence of entangled electron states due to scattering by phonons. We begin with a weighted single particle approach which requires an estimator encompassing all time steps to be held in memory. A second algorithm is obtained by synchronously evolving an ensemble of all particles together. While these algorithms are ide...
متن کاملConvergence of Monte Carlo simulations to equilibrium.
We give two direct, elementary proofs that a Monte Carlo simulation converges to equilibrium provided that appropriate conditions are satisfied. The first proof requires detailed balance while the second is quite general.
